The first difference is not the shape of the body, it is the material that touches the water. Stainless steel is durable and impact-resistant and scale shows on its base at cleaning time, but a metal body can get hot on the outside, so hold the handle and keep it away from children. Glass lets you see the water level, the boil, and the scale, at the cost of marks and fingerprints showing sooner and a vessel that needs gentler handling. Plastic is lighter, often cheaper, and its exterior stays relatively cooler. And the word stainless or glass in a product title describes the body without explaining the lid, the filter, or the rest of the water path, so ask about every part that touches the water rather than the outside finish alone. On the element, a concealed one sits under a flat interior base, which makes wiping and descaling easier, while an exposed one is a visible metal part inside the vessel where scale gathers and needs finer access. If the title or specifications do not say concealed or exposed, treat it as unknown and ask rather than inferring from a distant photo.
