How to Clean a Blender: Jar, Blade Base, and Gasket Done Right

Unplug the blender and check which jar, lid and blade parts your manual allows you to remove and wash. Clean those parts with the permitted method, keep the motor base out of water, and leave a fixed blade gasket in place. A quick powered wash or weekly teardown is not suitable for every blender.

How can I remove blender smells without damaging the gasket?
