Start with the installation space and the dishes you want to wash. Format, cabinet fit and usable rack space matter before a programme count or review score. A slimline machine can suit a narrow opening, but its width label alone does not confirm the installation.
What is the best type of dishwasher for my kitchen?
Choose the type that fits your measured space, connections and usual dish load. A freestanding model has its own exterior; an integrated model needs the specified cabinet arrangement, with fully or partly concealed controls depending on its design. Do not assume either fits simply because an opening has a familiar width. A countertop model may suit limited floor space, but check its water supply, drain, power and usable basket before choosing it. Some have refillable tanks, so a tap connection is not universal, and a tank does not remove drainage needs. Compare your plates, pans and glasses with the loading diagram rather than assigning a fixed number of people to each place-setting count. Then compare programme conditions, noise, consumption, written warranty and dated prices for the models that fit.
Distinguish placement from size
Bosch’s type guide distinguishes freestanding placement from integrated cabinetry. Some freestanding models permit installation under a worktop; confirm that permission for the exact unit. Fully integrated models conceal the controls when closed, while semi-integrated designs leave a control panel visible.
An integrated appliance is not automatically a reason for a complete kitchen renovation. Ask the installer to assess the existing opening, fixing points, panel and connections. Equally, do not assume a freestanding unit can replace an integrated one just because their nominal widths match.

Countertop does not describe one connection method
The Midea MDC17P0ABB example offers a water tank or faucet connection. Its manual still specifies drain-hose positioning. This North American electrical variant is an illustration of the design distinction, not an Egyptian purchase recommendation.
Check supporting surface, filling access and space around the actual countertop model. Renting does not by itself determine which type you can install; check any required changes and permissions for your situation.
Count your dishes as well as place settings
Place settings describe standardized crockery and cutlery capacity. Your pans, tall glasses and plate sizes may use the racks differently. Check loading diagrams and permitted rack adjustments, including whether a larger item blocks the spray arms.

Compare the cycles you will actually use
Read the cycle table for duration, suitable loads, drying and documented water or energy use. More programmes do not automatically mean better cleaning, but a particular programme may matter to your dishes and routine. Compare noise figures under comparable conditions and confirm the care requirements for filters and spray arms.
Ask for the exact model code and written warranty terms, including the service route. Ratings can suggest questions to investigate; they do not prove installation compatibility or cleaning performance.
